What Remains



I don’t remember what I was looking for that day.

But I remember stopping here.

Most of the windows were broken.

Some were completely gone.

Nothing about the building was trying to be beautiful anymore.

And yet, I took the photograph.

Maybe because places don’t have to be perfect to make us stop. Sometimes it’s the cracks, the missing pieces and the things left behind that make us look a little longer.

Years later, I still have the photograph.

And strangely, I’m glad I stopped.

One photo. One story. A small moment worth keeping.
