One photo. One story.

Sometimes I take photographs because I want to remember something.
And sometimes I just play.
With the angle.
With the light.
With an old lens that makes the world look slightly different from the way it really is.
I’ve never been particularly interested in photographing ordinary things in the most ordinary way. If something has been photographed a thousand times before — like a rose — I somehow want to look at it from somewhere else.
Not necessarily to make it better.
Just different.
I don’t remember exactly what made me put this rose into a glass and photograph it from above. There was no idea behind it, no carefully planned composition and certainly no deeper meaning.
I probably just wondered what would happen.
And maybe that’s one of the things I like most about creative photography.
You don’t always need to know what you’re looking for before you press the shutter. Sometimes you move something, change the angle, pick up an old lens, try something that makes very little sense…
and suddenly, there it is.
A photograph you would never have made if you had known exactly what you were doing.
